Superfast fibre Broadband Now Live in Dingley

PLEASE NOTE THAT THE BELOW IS NOW LIVE - As of 5 FEB 2016 Customers are now connected

The Dingley community are beneficiaries of BT’s investment partnership with Northamptonshire County Council (Superfast Northamptonshire) to extend the reach of superfast broadband to around 95% of the County.

As part of this rollout programme, engineering work is now underway to run a fibre cable from the serving exchange into the village and to then connect this to each residential property or business premises direct via fibre to the premises (FTTP) technology.  FTTP offers speeds of up to 330Mbps.

Once engineering work is complete by early summer, the majority of residents and businesses will be able to order a fibre broadband service from their current broadband provider or choose a service from over 150 service providers (e.g. BT Infinity, Sky Broadband, Talk Talk and Plusnet) using the Openreach fibre infrastructure to provide services to their customers.

When the new FTTP service has gone live, this will be notified via Superfast Northamptonshire (leafleting, Parish Council, newsletter and local media). Further information on the technology etc. can be found via the Openreach website:

Superfast Broadband is coming to Dingley

Important Update from Dingley Parish Council

Since the last edition of the Pump there have been major developments in our bid to secure Superfast Broadband in Dingley.  The Parish Council has very recently met with Paul Bimson, the BT Regional Partnership Director for the East Midlands, and he has given us the excellent news that fibre broadband will be available in Dingley village next year.  You may have already seen an increase in local activity as Openreach planners have already started surveying the village infrastructure.

Meanwhile, we have also received a letter from Northampton County Council’s (NCC) Ian Achurch, Head of Development, Infrastructure & Funding, confirming funding arrangements with Broadband Delivery UK (BDUK), the Government’s unit which is managing the national programme.  He explains that funding for NCC and BT to re-arrange the existing telephone network and to install new fibre-optic cabling has been approved.  Paul Bimson and NCC have indicated that if everything goes to plan and we have no major delays for bad weather etc. then this work will be finished by early summer 2015.

The Superfast Northamptonshire partnership between the county council and BT have announced the inclusion of Dingley in their programme, and the website at will soon have updated coverage maps.  See the press:

It is important to know that once the Openreach fibre network has been installed and gone live, you will be able to place an order for a fibre broadband package from many different internet service providers (ISPs) including BT, Sky and Talktalk to name just a few. This choice means you can seek the best deals available and purchase the service you want rather than pay for something you don’t need.

Please feel free to contact me, Simon Edwards, directly at This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. if you have any questions regarding Superfast Broadband in Dingley, it is our aim to get the best for our villagers.

To aid communication when required, the Parish Council would like to be able to correspond with as many villagers as possible by email.  If you have not already signed up to the email list, we would appreciate it if you could send us an email to This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. in order to consent to be on the distribution list.  We will of course respect your confidentiality and not share this outside of the Council – please state if you do not consent to also being on the Neighbourhood Watch email distribution list.

We would like to pass on Season's Greetings and wish all villagers well for the New Year.  We will next meet again in February (we hold ten meetings per year, with a break in January and August).  As always please feel free to come to a council meeting but check the notice board for details as sometimes the dates may change.

Please note that you may also receive a paper copy of this update as not everyone uses the website.

Order Gigaclear Ultrafast Broadband Now!

Gigaclear plc
Congratulations Ashley, Brampton Ash, Dingley, Stoke Albany, Sutton Bassett and Weston by Welland

Dear Dingley Resident,

Gigaclear has been assessing the level of interest for better broadband across your villages. The number of registrations of interest received has exceeded our required number, clearly demonstrating there is demand for better broadband in your communities.

Now we have recognised there is real demand in your area we are going to start taking orders for the service.

The Gigaclear proposal is that once we reach 30% order penetration across your communities, we will commit to fund and build a new, purely fibre optic, ultrafast broadband network. This network will provide a connection for every property we pass, not just those that sign up, and it will deliver one of the fastest broadband networks in the country. Everyone connected will have the same ultrafast and ultra-reliable service for uploads and downloads regardless of how far they live from the cabinet, future proofing your communities for many years to come.

How to order:
To sign up, please complete the online order form at The sooner we reach the threshold of orders the sooner we will commit to a date to build this network in your community. We are currently scheduling this for works to start in April/May 2015. We expecting the project to take 3 months to complete (weather permitting).
When do we pay?
Please note: Gigaclear does not take any money from any customer until the service is installed and working in your property. All we need to proceed is a signed service order and a completed Direct Debit mandate. Once your service is installed we will then collect the £100 connection fee and your monthly subscription in advance. Should you opt for ‘self installation’ we will collect the £100 connection fee before the self installation kit is couriered to you, if you choose ‘Gigaclear Approved Installer’ for your connection you will pay the installer directly for their work. Their costs can be calculated from information on their website –
What happens next?
To see progress on the number of orders taken across your communities please visit

As part of our process of communicating with all the residents and businesses that we pass, a Gigaclear sales representative will visit you (if you have not signed up already) over the next few weeks to explain the offer and answer any questions you may have. The two Gigaclear representatives in your area will be carrying photo ID with them.

Gigaclear special offer to early customers
As a thank you to recognise those of you that helped to get your community over the 30% order threshold, Gigaclear will give you a FREE UPGRADE to the next service level for the next 12 months for getting the project delivered. So if you order an H50 you will be given an H100 for 12 months*.

Don't forget - encourage your neighbours to sign up - the sooner we reach the required numbers, the sooner we will commit to build your new ultrafast broadband network.
